I'll start by saying he was a super nice guy when I dropped my car off. Now to the full story. I called back in March and set an appointment for the following week. Dropped my car off and waited. Got a call a couple of days later explaining that the vehicle had a MAF sensor issue and that would fix it. I then asked about the oil leak. To which I was told, hold on, it's still on the lift, let me look. He came back and said yes, it's leaking. Obviously. Called me back later and said he thought it was a head gasket. But he said he'd rather just put in a used motor than do the head gasket and said it would be cheaper. I agreed with his assessment. He said I would just have to wait for him to get a motor. I called every week asking for an update and it was always the same, no motor. Then yesterday, 05/20/2026, after over TWO MONTHS, I called again. This time was different though. This time he tells me that I should take it elsewhere because he just had to fire his "engine guy" because he had to fire him for showing up to work drunk two days. So I go to pick up the vehicle. My husband and I dropped my car off last Thursday. We assumed it probably just needed new brake pads but weren’t sure. We usually take our cars to Len’s but it was recently bought out. We chose Jimmy’s because it’s local. My car was left in the same spot from Friday- EOD Monday so my husband called and asked what the hold up was. Jimmy was honest that they were backed up, but it would get looked at that day. Flash forward to Tuesday and still hadn’t heard anything so my husband went in person to talk to them. Jimmy said they would work on it that day. By Thursday, we were pretty fed up with the very little communication, so my husband called and let him know we would be picking up my car Friday morning and to leave the keys in it so we can unlock it with my spare set. Not only was nothing done to it, but the keys weren’t even in the car. I had work so I used my spare keys then left and my husband went in to go get my original keys. They told him they were under the floor mats, but they were not. I didn’t look until I got home from work. So as of now, I only have one set of keys and a still out-of-whack break system after a whole week of not having my car. I completely understand be

I’ve been going to Jimmy’s on and off for years and he’s always been great. He’s personable, treats you like a friend and is honest about what you actually need—no upselling or unnecessary extras. He keeps things simple and straightforward. I wasn’t around in the 60s, but he reminds me of what I imagine a true neighborhood mechanic was like back then—someone you can trust

After searching for a place to do my safety and emissions in o Fallon I finally landed on Jimmy’s. The reviews were outstanding, and Jimmy himself definitely has the hometown feel. He got me in with his busy schedule the next day, kept communication and was so down to earth. He made sure I understood everything and didn’t push me on anything. Definitely only coming here from now on. Very honest and trustworthy place! Thanks Jimmy ❤️☺️
